The next step….
So I began a personal training programme at Axis.
Back in October 2010 I was tipping, and I mean tipping, the scales at 13st 5lb, dress size 16. Over time my weight had increased, little by little, day by day, month by month. I was unfit and my diet was appalling. I was unhappy with my appearance and despite all that, I kept making the familiar excuse that I was too busy to go to the gym. I couldn’t be bothered to cook and had resigned myself to the fact that I was always going to be overweight and unfit. 6 months later, here I am, nearly 4 stone lighter, 4 dress sizes smaller and an altogether fitter, healthier and happier woman. So how did I do it ? Well, that’s just it, I didn’t do it on my own.
I had been a member of Axis for a few years but had let my attendance slip. I had no motivation, had put on a lot of weight and kept making excuses not to go to the gym. Following a call from the trainers at Axis, I make the conscious decision to go in and chat to them about getting me back on track again.
During an initial consultation, we discussed my lifestyle, goals, strengths and weaknesses. I had a shoulder injury which had been troubling me for years and my knee joints were problematic. We analysed my health and fitness, reviewed my diet and talked about my commitment to improving my diet, fitness and general well being. From here, it didn’t take me long to figure out that to make these positive changes to my life and ensure I wasn’t going to aggravate my injury, I was going to need some expert help and most importantly encouragement and motivation. Personal training was the obvious solution. A unique training program was developed just for me, with a dedicated personal trainer who would be there for me on a one to one basis every step of the way.
