All you need to know about how we are keeping you safe

Following the lifting of national restrictions on Monday 19 July 2021, take a look at how we are making adjustments to our gym. Whilst we welcome the move, we will still continue to prioritise safety.

What are you doing about social distancing ?

Social distancing reduces the risk of transmission of COVID-19 between people.

We will encourage social distancing at all times and ask you to do the same. Respect other people’s space whilst using the gym.

What are you doing about cleaning ?

Cleaning is an important part of controlling COVID-19 and we are taking all steps we can to keep the gym clean to minimise risk to both you and us.

We will regularly sanitise the gym equipment throughout the day with antibacterial spray

Please bring your own towel to wipe down machines after use. Sanisiter and antibacterial gel are available across the whole of the gym.

The front and rear doors to the gym will be open to allow circulation of fresh air throughout the gym.

Our air conditioning system circulates fresh air.

Will I have to sanitise my hands ?

YES.

It is MANDATORY TO SANITISE YOUR HANDS upon entering the gym and before going though the turnstile.

We have a hand sanitiser station located as soon as you enter the gym which you must use. You will not be allowed to pass through the turnstile and enter the gym until you have sanitised your hands. There are more hand sanitiser stations throughout the gym for you to use during your gym visit.

Hand hygiene is very important to control the spread of COVID-19 and you should try to not touch your face at all.

If you must cough or sneeze, do so into the crook of your arm or use a tissue and throw it away immediately – then wash your hands.

Will I need to wear a face mask / face covering ?

NO. You are not required to wear a face mask / covering upon entering the Goals clubhouse or whilst in the gym.

Please try to stay behind the perspex screen at the reception desk.

 

Q

I am not feeling 100% but I really want to use the gym, will it be OK for me to train ?

NO !

If you feel unwell in any way you should not be coming to the gym, you will be spreading your germs and your workout will not be productive.

If been advised to self isolate via the NHS Test & Trace app or via a healthcare professional – you must not use the gym !

If you display any of the following systems of COVID-19 you must not, under any circumstance, come into the gym.

You DO NOT ENTER OR USE THE GYM if you experience ANY the following, any time over any 14 day period

– a new and continuous unexplained cough that you cannot attribute to any other health condition

– a new shortness of breath that you cannot attribute to any other health condition

– a new sore throat that you cannot attribute to any other health condition

– a new loss of taste and / or smell that you cannot attribute to any other health condition

– a temperature over 37.8 degrees c or a sense of having a fever that you cannot attribute to any other health condition

– had close contact with anyone who is or was sick with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 (close contact is defined as within 6 feet for more than 10 consecutive minutes

Can I just turn up at the gym to train or do I need to book a session ?

You are free to use the gym at any time and for any reasonable period of time throughout the day. We believe 1 hr is more than enough time to warm up, train and cool down. There is no booking system in operation.

Our opening hours are :

Mon – Thurs 8am – 9pm

Fri 8am – 8pm

Sat & Sun 9am – 4pm

Bank Holidays 10am – 4pm

Can I use lockers and showers ?

Lockers and showering facilities are open and available for use.

In order to keep all personal belongings out of the gym, we will ask to leave all coats, bags, keys etc in a locker. You will need a padlock for the locker, which you can purchase in the gym.

Can I bring my gym towel into the gym ?

YES.

If you are prone to excessive perspiration, out of respect to other gym users,  please towel yourself down before using gym equipment.

Antibacterial spray cleaner is located throughout the gym for you to use.

Can I still pay with cash ?

YES. We would ask you to pay using card / contactless where possible  so we do not have to handle cash.

We have a full range of chilled sports drinks, protein drinks and still water as well as protein tubs and bars on sale in the gym.

Our proteins are available to purchase.If you require any help with supplementation, please speak to an instructor.

 

Q

Is there any equipment that I cannot use ?

NO. All equipment is available for you to use. We will be regularly cleaning and sanitising equipment throughout the day.

Please sanitise your hands before using the boxing gloves and return then to the glove rack where they can ventilate after use.

We have added additional functional kit in the outside terrace, so if you fancy a workout outdoors, you can.

Will the Instructors still be able to help me ?

YES. We are always available to offer guidance and support – just ask !

If you’d rather “self-help”, our strength training machines have a QR code which links to a short video showing you how to set up and use all the machines.

Can I book a massage in the Sports Massage clinic ?

YES. Our clinic is open for a full range of sport massage therapies. Speak to Steve if you are interested and check out the section on our website for information on what we do.
